Don’t shoot

This was just a test-shot, another part of my ongoing project about uniforms. Fun, fast and easy-going photo session on-location in a basement :) We will obviously work on this theme though, I would like to have more action in the image of course.

Not a cop but in this uniform looks cool

Just quick ‘strobist’ info behind the image:

another one 580ex2 gridded on his face, camera right, 1/16.

Long Island house again, Port Washington

It was a lovely summer day in July when we had this photoshoot of a beautiful new house in gated community of Port Washington on north shore of Long Island, NY. Again for portfolio of interior designer Christine Hopper.

A little bit too much sun outside for dealing with skylights but we managed it :)

It was a relatively small project for designer’s portfolio. Newly designed doctor’s office with ambiance. Terrific location on south shore of Long Island with amazing views on water. I can say I envy their patients :)photography of interior of doctors office

Photographing a family for Christmas card

I’m always proud when clients come to me again year after year, because it proves I’m doing good :) I’m delivering the images and I’m making them happy!

This was another such family: I photographed them last autumn when Robi  couldn’t even stand yet on his own. And now we had another photo session in Central Park for their Christmas cards. The astonishing fall foliage of late October in NYC makes it perfect  background for such images.

Robi is now quite running and know what he wants and what he doesn’t like too :)

We had actually to do 2 days of photography to get enough images.

Urban view

It’s one of the best spots to look at shiny NYC’s skyline – across the river from Manhattan you got to Brooklyn. There is a beautiful pier with water taxis and infamous Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. And there is that view :).

As times change something we lose and something we gain. It was a great place to go for wedding pictures, on any given day you’d see a few weddings coming there. Not anymore, because parking is prohibited there now. But they built there really nice Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Products photography in interior

This is was an interior photography kind of work. But. In fact we were shooting for and with Linoto company which makes great linen stuff. It was quite fast-pacing and high-quality work, with 2 invited stylists and a lot of props. So we shot it in a loft and all interiors were staged and styled mostly by stylist Abby Walton and Jason Evege from Linoto.

Staged and styled interior

Photography of White linens which are the bestsellers at Linoto

Everything was styled to the way you would feel it like it’s home, not just a showroom, but real cozy and warm home. I think that the stylists did they job really great. there is fine balance between messy loose set and relaxed homelike atmosphere we achieved in these images.

Family portraiture in Saudek’s colors

It was a family portrait session in out local beautiful Juniper Valley Park in the beginning of November. I was caught by autumn colors and remembered my old favorite photo book by great Czech photographer Jan Saudek. He used there a technique by hand painting his B&W photographs in such a vibrant and rich, saturated colors. The book was titled “LOVE’.

So this particular picture reminds me of that book every time I look at it.
